In addition to the usual human and canine socializing, we'll be set up so you can give your dogs some practice for the upcoming Weinerschnitzle Weiner Dog Races. No promise of a starting gate yet, but we will at least set up lanes. This event will also run longer than usual. Since many want to come later, but some have conflicts, we'll start at 2, but be there until 6.

Join us for a colorful and hilarious look at the surprisingly cut throat world of competitive wiener dogs, a world that boasts healthy dachshunds and rabid owners! Come get a special look at this independent dog-umentary made by local filmakers right here in San Diego! The timing couldn't be better, just a few weeks before our own local races. The exclusive preview party will feature the film-makers, some stars of the show (human and canine), live entertainment, refreshments, and a donation drawing and silent auction with fabulous prizes from local merchants. This is not your ususal Meetup event. It is a fundraiser for Classics 4 Kids and tickets must be purchased through them. Unfortunately, our doggies cannot attend this event. The 20th Annual Dachshund Picnic is sponsored by the San Diego Dachshund Club.
The event is from Noon until 3:30 p.m. Bring your dachshunds, friends, lawn chair, shade gear, blanket, water and snacks for the dog, as well as your own picnic lunch. The club will also have food and snacks available for purchase and/or donation. *Owners are responsible for their dog's behavior at all times.
*Remember to pick up after your dog and use trash cans for litter.
*Dogs must be on a SHORT leash (no extendo leashes).

They will first shoot group shots followed by group (animals only) and finish off with individuals and family shots. Special request photos will be shot at the end, but of course will be included! The prints are available online for viewing and purchasing within 24 hours. All purchases are then delivered to your door. For our event, session fees are completely waved and you will only have to pay for phots you purchase. From those purchases, 5% will be donated to 2nd Chance Dachshund Rescue.
