B/c of the weather getting cooler and because the days are shorter we're moving the meetup back to 3pm for the time being. This February we're focusing on the heart - the dog's heart that is! Most of the dogs we get from shelters and owner surrenders have never been on heartworm prevention and are put in danger of contracting heartworms. With the warm climate in North Carolina, dogs not on heartworm prevention have a 50% chance of contracting heartworms. Please bring heartworm pills to donate to rescue this month (interceptor, heartguard plus, triheart - all are appreciated!) and help care for the doxies in need! Meetup is at 3pm on Saturday. Please remember that our new meeting location is NOT in the small dog park but in the adjacent fenced in area specifically designed for groups such as ours! Looking forward to seeing everyone there and enjoying some fun in the sun! Please note: Durham Dog Park meetup requires registration to the Durham Dog park. Feb 07 3 2007 3:00 PM	Raleigh Dachshund Have-a-Heart Meetup 14 attended (est.) – 4.503 The Raleigh Dachshund February meetup has been scheduled. This month, in honor of valentine's day, we are focusing on the heart, specifically the dog's heart. Most of you know how important heartworm prevention is, particularly in the south but many of the dogs we pull from shelters or get from owner surrenders have never for a month been on heartworm prevention. In North Carolina dogs not on heartworm prevention have a 50% chance of getting heartworms so that is not very good odds for the dogs we are getting in! A donation of heartworm pills or heartworm tests to support our foster dogs would be very appreciated this month! Let's get together and have a good time!
