Introduction

I work with Dachshund Rescue of North America (am a foster parent and member) but I have two doxies of my own, Lily who we adopted 2.5 years ago from DRNA and Marshall who we fostered and adopted 5 months ago. I am looking forward to meeting everyone

What are you hoping to get out of the doxie meetup group?

I like meeting new people, spreading the word about doxie rescue and making local contacts in the area. Most importantly I like to hang out with other people who love their doxies as much as I do!

How many doxies do you have and what are their names, age, coat, sex, hairtype?

I have two permanent family members, Lillian and Marshall. Lily is a red smooth tweenie female, 13 lbs and 5 years old and Marshall is a red smooth tweenie male about 15 lbs and 3 years old. I got both of them from Dachshund Rescue of North America and often have at least 2 extras with me of varying size/color/coat type as foster doxies looking for forever homes.

Does your Dachshund have any bad habits?

Lily likes to bark at people at the dog park and when they come over. I think she likes to bark a lot in general :). Otherwise she is perfect.

What do you love most about your Dachshund?

I love their spirit and I love what amazing travellers they are! Lily is a seasoned traveller and has flown over 40 times. They ride so well in the car and are small enough to come with us everywhere. I love the doxie look and I love how ready they are for adventure or if we're just watching a movie they are content to sleep as well.
