Hey Friends~

Great news...we have a location for our Meet Up. The dog park at The Animal Defense League (ADL). There is a very large park at the back of the property with 3 fenced kennels, picnic tables, benches and a nice gazebo. We will use 1, maybe 2 of the kennels.

It is a very busy place with limited parking in front of the building. For that reason, we will be allowed to park at the ADL Hospital parking lot. The ADL Hospital is on Iota Drive...around the corner from the ADL. If traveling north on Nacogdoches, you will turn right onto Iota (just past Wurzbach Pkwy) and left into the ADL Hospital parking lot. There is a gate at the end of the parking lot that will give you access to the ADL property...follow the path around to the park.

We are really excited about this, the ADL is a good fit for us. The Humane Society is no longer an option and we will not be going back there. They made it very clear (by sending me a form letter) that social groups, such as ours, do nothing but take up all the parking spaces, leave the room a mess, steal things and withhold donations. I was appalled and offended. I sent back a letter defending our members and expressing my shock and anger at receiving a form letter making such terrible accusations. The ADL will more appreciative of our members and our donations.
